Littleton Criminal History Checks
Sort the record by its creator. LPD holds city police reports, arrest narratives, communications audio, and releasable evidence. Littleton Municipal Court holds local traffic and ordinance cases. A county jail tracks custody, while the Colorado Judicial Branch holds state-filed cases. CBI provides a statewide name-based history layer but may lack summonses or a disposition not sent to it.
Gather the event date, time, location, report number, subject name, and birth date before searching. Those facts help LPD locate the police file and help the court distinguish similar names. Keep each identifier in context. A police report number is not a municipal case number, and a booking number is not a statewide history key. If the first search fails, verify jurisdiction before broadening the request.
- Confirm the incident site, agency, report number, and involved person's details.
- Submit the LPD records form for the precise report or medium.
- Search Littleton traffic and criminal cases for municipal matters.
- Check the correct county court and jail for state charges or custody.
- Use CBI ICHC for statewide context and verify outcomes at the court.
Complete the Littleton Police Form
The official LPD request form collects requester name, address, phone, email, signature, and date. Event fields include date or range, time, report number, location, involved person's name and birth date, plus the requester's relationship when juvenile material is sought.
Describe the desired product instead of asking for everything. A focused Littleton request reduces needless research and redaction work. Send questions to LPDRecords@littletongov.org, call 303-795-3880, or fax 303-795-3705. The records office is at 2255 W Berry Avenue.
- Incident report
- The written police narrative and releasable attachments.
- Communications audio
- Recorded dispatch or call material held by the communications center.
- Body-worn camera
- Officer video, subject to review, redaction, and date limits.
Records at the Littleton Police Department
LPD creates the city police file when officers document an incident, crash, summons, or arrest. Its request menu separates Incident Report, Crash Report, Crime Lab Audio, Crime Lab Video, Crime Lab Photos, Communications Center Audio, and Body Worn Camera. Those products are not a Municipal Court disposition or a state-court case file.
Research, media, and labor charges for blurring or muting may apply. LPD warns that completed reports not collected within 30 days are destroyed. That does not mean the underlying police case disappears; it means the prepared production must be requested again. Keep contact details current and respond when the records unit says material is ready.
Juvenile requests require the relationship field because access differs from ordinary adult records. The form asks whether the requester is tied to the juvenile and seeks enough identity detail for staff to apply the rule. Do not leave that relationship unexplained. For any restricted Littleton file, the records unit may ask for identification or proof of authority before release.
Littleton Camera Records Have a Start Date
Littleton's body-worn camera coverage began December 15, 2021. Checking the BWC box for an older incident cannot create video that LPD never recorded. For older events, ask which other sources exist, such as a written report, communications audio, crime-lab media, or other releasable evidence.
The date rule helps set a realistic request scope. For later incidents, provide the report number, officer or involved-person details, location, and tight date and time range. Video may still require privacy review and redaction before release, and the form warns that media work can carry charges.
Booking and Arrest Records in Littleton
No official evidence establishes a Littleton city jail. The safest route is to request the LPD arrest report, then check the Arapahoe County Detention Facility for custody unless LPD or the court identifies another holding agency. The ACDF line is 720-874-3500 and is useful when the current-inmate lookup is unclear.
A Littleton police report records the event. A jail entry records intake, bond, custody, and release. The court file shows filed charges and outcome. Because the city crosses county lines, never infer the jail or court solely from a Littleton mailing address. The county Arapahoe arrest-search page covers the ACDF layer.
Current-inmate tools also have a time limit built into their purpose. A release or transfer can remove a person from the current list while police and court files remain. For an older Littleton arrest, request the LPD report and identify the booking custodian from the event details. For a recent event, call the likely facility when the online lookup does not resolve custody.
Littleton Records Cross Three Counties
Littleton extends into Arapahoe, Jefferson, and Douglas counties. The correct court and jail turn on the actual incident site, arresting agency, and filing venue. A Littleton address can therefore lead to a record outside Arapahoe County even when LPD handled the first report.
Read the summons and report header closely. City-code and local traffic matters go to Littleton Municipal Court. A Colorado felony or state misdemeanor goes through the state trial court serving the filing county. Current custody follows the holding agency. This routing check prevents false no-results across Littleton systems.
The Littleton Municipal Court File
Littleton Municipal Court is at 2069 W Littleton Boulevard. It links traffic and criminal case search, upcoming dockets, payments, hybrid check-in, and observation options. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closes from noon to 1 p.m. Contact 303-795-3837 or courtweb@littletongov.org.

Littleton City Court or County Court?
Littleton's city police bureau, Municipal Court, and Arapahoe County Courthouse sit near one another but keep separate records. The municipal clerk handles the city's own cases. The Colorado Judicial Branch handles state felonies, misdemeanors, and related trial-court documents at its Arapahoe locations, including the courthouse at 1790 W Littleton Boulevard.
The official Municipal Court source supplies the Littleton court image below.

The court named on the summons controls the case record, regardless of which building seems closest.
How Littleton Records Reach the County
LPD retains its investigative record. If prosecutors file a state charge, a separate court file records the complaint, hearings, orders, disposition, and sentence. Fingerprints and reported outcomes may later enter CBI's Colorado history system. A municipal matter stays in Littleton's city court instead.
Record flow: Littleton Police Department › proper county court › Colorado Bureau of Investigation
A recent LPD report may appear before a later court or CBI entry. A dismissal does not erase the fact that a booking once existed. When CBI lacks an outcome, obtain official documentation from the deciding court and use the repository's correction process.
CBI ICHC is a Colorado-only name check, not a city search. It charges for each matching report and can return several matches for a common name. It excludes sealed cases and specified juvenile material. Treat it as a lead for self-review, then compare arrest cycles and outcomes against the original Littleton, jail, and court records before asking an agency to correct an error.
Read Littleton Crime Counts Carefully
Official January 2026 council material reported overall crime 3.1 percent lower year to date as of December 31, 2025, and 4.2 percent below the three-year average. Those figures describe a dated citywide trend. They do not prove whether a particular event happened or how a named case ended.
Use trend reports for context and original records for facts. LPD establishes the report, the court establishes the filed case and outcome, and custody records show detention. A city percentage cannot replace any of those Littleton sources.
Littleton's County-Seat Record History
Littleton's settlement began during the 1859 gold-rush era. The Rough and Ready Flour Mill opened in 1867, the railroad arrived in 1871, and the village was platted in 1872. Littleton incorporated with 245 residents in 1890. After old Arapahoe County split in 1902, Littleton became the permanent county seat in 1904.
The official Littleton history provides the local image below.

That history explains why city police, municipal court, and state-county court offices are close but remain separate custodians.
Littleton Record Access Rules
CCJRA governs Littleton police and other criminal-justice records. CORA governs ordinary city records. Custodians may withhold or redact protected juvenile material, sealed cases, active investigative details, victim information, or records restricted by court order or public interest. Requester identity and relationship can affect access to juvenile records.
Key Statutes:
CCJRA, CRS 24-72-301 through 309 governs Littleton criminal-justice records.
CRS 24-72-305 permits restrictions for specified records.
CRS 24-72-305.5 bars release for direct business solicitation.
